WWW Wednesdays Jan 30

Bit later today getting my WWW Wednesday post together. But oh well, here it is now!

The meme comes from shouldbereading, and all you have to do is answer these questions: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? and What are you planning to read next?

currently reading

  • The Serpent Sea by Martha Wells – only on chapter 2, so no real thoughts yet. Enjoying being back in that world though!

recently finished

  • Pandaemonium by Ben Macallan – awesome. I loved it. Highly recommended, and more complete review coming soon.
  • The Tempest (The Complete Works of Shakespeare) – always makes me feel good to finally read for myself something canonical like this that gets referenced a lot in all sorts of different media. I think I’m going to take a bit of a break from Shakespeare though… probably aim to finish the whole thing by the end of 2013. Only 36 plays to go 😉

plan to read next

There’s a couple possibilities, depending on what sort of book I feel like after finishing The Serpent Sea.  Let’s do it by genre:

  • SFF: probably Palimpsest by Catherynne Valente
  • crime/thriller: either Double Dexter by Jeff Lindsay, or the second Castle book
  • historical fiction: probably The Eagle’s Daughter by Judith Tarr
  • in French: probably Molière, Le misanthrope
  • classics: I’m still technically in the middle of Dracula, I should probably finish that
  • poetry: 100 Love Sonnets by Pablo Neruda

I am spoiled for choice. Happy bookworm is happy.
